Alexandra was born in Greece and grew up in a multi-lingual and multi-cultural home. She has loved music since a young age and quickly developed a passion for singing, followed by playing guitar, piano, recorder and flute, ukulele, mandolin, and percussion.
After completing an undergraduate degree in Music Science and Art at the University of Macedonia in Greece and while enjoying a career as a performing and recording singer and multi-instrumentalist, Alexandra began training as a music therapist. She qualified from the University of South Wales in 2023 and has since become a qualified Neurologic Music Therapist®.
Alexandra works with a person-centred, flexible, and compassionate approach. A great part of her therapeutic work focuses on developing rapport and a positive therapeutic relationship and alliance, while supporting self-expression, agency, choice-making, and exploration in a safe, kind, and non-judgmental space.
Alexandra works with a wide range of client groups, including children, young people, and adults. She works in the areas of mental health, neurorehabilitation, developmental delay and neurodevelopmental disorders, learning disability, and with clients with complex medical presentations and communication difficulties.
Alexandra works in mainstream and SEN schools, care homes, hospitals, and private homes across Tyne and Wear, County Durham, and Northumberland.
